# Introduction

> Order business leads scraped live from Google Maps, from your own code or from an AI agent.

Leadity searches Google Maps when you order and sells the businesses it finds as leads, paid per lead in credits. Everything the [Leadity app](https://app.leadity.io) does to order and collect leads, your code can do through the HTTP API and an AI agent can do through the MCP server.

To get started you need:

1. A Leadity account with credits on it.
2. A key from the [Connectors page](https://app.leadity.io/connectors) of the app: an API key for the HTTP API, or an MCP key for the MCP server.

## Two ways in

- [HTTP API](https://docs.leadity.io/quickstart): JSON over HTTPS with a Bearer key. For scripts, back ends and integrations.
- [MCP server](https://docs.leadity.io/mcp/overview): The same operations as tools, for Claude, Cursor and any other MCP client.

## How an order works

A scrape is an order for leads: one or more niches, an area, the filters you want and how many leads you need. Leadity searches the area live and delivers the businesses that pass your filters.

**1. Choose what to scrape**

A niche is one Google Maps category, such as Roofing Contractor. Find them with [`list_niches`](https://docs.leadity.io/api-reference/catalog/list-niches), and the countries, regions and postal codes on sale with [`list_territories`](https://docs.leadity.io/api-reference/catalog/list-territories) and [`search_areas`](https://docs.leadity.io/api-reference/catalog/search-areas).

**2. Price it for free**

[`estimate_scrape`](https://docs.leadity.io/api-reference/scrapes/estimate-scrape) answers the exact price per lead, how much of the area is still unswept, and the smallest order your account can place. It takes no credits.

**3. Place the order**

[`create_scrape`](https://docs.leadity.io/api-reference/scrapes/create-scrape) holds the price of the order up front. It needs a `maxCredits` ceiling and an `Idempotency-Key`, so a retry can never buy twice. See [Spending credits safely](https://docs.leadity.io/spending-credits).

**4. Watch it run**

A scrape takes minutes to hours. Poll [`get_scrape_status`](https://docs.leadity.io/api-reference/scrapes/get-scrape-status) every 30 to 60 seconds until `complete` is true. Nothing is pushed to you when it ends.

**5. Collect the leads**

Page through them with [`list_leads`](https://docs.leadity.io/api-reference/scrapes/list-leads), or take the whole list as one CSV with [`download_leads`](https://docs.leadity.io/api-reference/scrapes/download-leads). Whatever the run did not deliver is refunded when it settles.

> **Note:** The leads are scraped live, not served from a stored list: a scrape searches Google Maps when you place it, so every run returns businesses as they appear today. A business your account already holds, in any niche, is skipped and never charged.
